CASE

A sharply delineated defect in the peripheral part of the common right lower lobe branch of pulmonary artery can be appreciated on plain chest radiograph together with an indistinct area of consolidation in the lateral part of the right lower lung lobe. This proved to be acute lung embolism with lung infarction.
