Dorsocaudal branch of the portal vein

CASE

CT shows a variant of intrahepatic branching of the portal vein with so called dorso-caudal branch that arises below the true bifurcation of the portal vein and supplies segment 6. This variety may be a source of complications during cholecystectomy.
