Gangrenous appendicitis

CASE

Marked thickening and contrast enhanement of the wall of appendix, bottom of cecum, and also terminal ileum. Surrounding fat has increased density due to edema and streaks of fluid. Some fluid is in the pelvis. Note also focal thickening of the peritonum.
