Areas of thickened intralobar interstitium with predominance in both lower lung lobes, confluencing in basal segments, where they are accompanied by traction bronchiectasias. Much of the remaining parenchyma has increased density (ground-glass) as an unspecific sign, which in this case marks alveolitis.
