Metastasis of malignant melanoma into skin

CASE

In patients with malignant melanoma undergoing CT to rule out metastatic disease, a thorough inspection of skin and subcutaneous fat must be performed to find small metastatic nodules that would otherwise escape notice. For this, volume rendering or surface MIP (maximum intensity projection) can be employed.
