Patient with a large well defined convex shadow in the left upper lung zone was reffered for CT examination. It showed a large semisolid mass in the left upper lung lobe with a liqufied portion and a small amout of gas. The solid portion is enhancing. The mass causes osteolysis of the 2nd to 4th vertebra and extends into the spine. This is better depicted by MRI that also shows infiltration of the 2nd to 4th vertebra - part of their bodies adjacent to the mass is hypointense both in T1 and T2 weighted images.
