Ultrasound examination of abdomen that was performed in a patient in a melanoma follow-up, showed an inhogeneously hyperechoic lesion arising from the middle segment. CT that followed showed that the lesion was relatively hypodense to the cortex suggesting either renal carcinoma or angiomyolipoma with paucity of fat component. However, renal adenomyolipomas are rare in males. The patient underwent surgery and histology confirmed renal carcinoma.
