Thrombosis of the left atrial appendage

CASE

The thoracic aorta is already filled with contrast, but the left atrial appendage contains a hypodense lobular formation which represents a blood clot. Differentiation between trombosis and mixing of non-enhanced blood may be difficult, especially in an early phase.
